We made our first visit to this newest Yu's Mandarin location and had a mighty fine lunch. They run an efficient operation, and the wife and I were promptly greeted and provided a table in the middle of the vibrant and mostly Chinese lunch crowd. Glasses of cold water and a carafe of hot tea were then readily brought out. We ordered their Peking noodles ($10.50) and moo-shu pork combination lunch special ($11.50). They were 4-star good, served piping hot fresh, and also generously sized servings. We were both nicely provided a big cup of soup (egg drop for me and hot and sour for the wife) even though we only ordered one lunch combo special. The server was a welcoming and friendly lady but I didn't catch her name. Their dining space doesn't initially appear quite as large as you might think from the outside, but they have a large side room with several big tables that sort of hides their true capacity. I observed also their large open kitchen window in which you could see 4 chefs working in a big, open, and airy kitchen and they get to look out at the diners just as we get to look in on them. I thought this must be the nicest kitchen setup a chef could have in an Asian kitchen! Overall, a very nice lunch visit, and a solid 4 star experience. Thank you!

I have my go to Korean- Chinese dish. Spicy noodles with seafood or black sauce noodles. Always perfect and hits the craving Service is fast and courteous.

I thought this would be just another ordinary Americanized. Chinese restaurant but I was wrong. Their food is actually really good. Some dishes are more authentic than the others, There are still some americanized dishes, which are quite good, like the walnut shrimp, Which I love their version, by the way. But my friend recommended the noodle soup which I don't regret saying yes to at all.It was really good. And their broth was really authentic. It was super savory and flavorful. They're noodles was homemade or housemaid. Which meeting amazing. Service was great. We were taken care of really well and the place. Uh, is your typical Chinese place? Good ambience. And I think it would be good for group and family dinners. I would definitely come back to try more stuff on the menu because they do have an extensive menu. Happy eating!

06/26/24 - My wife & I were returning from Grayslake where we met a friend. We were both hungry & decide to stop @ Yu's Mandarin for dinner. Yu's Mandarin is fairly new. They completely remodeled the exterior of the exterior & interior & did a beautiful job. The first thing I noticed when I went into Yu's was total gut rehab of the exterior & the interior. I had eaten at the other restaurant Golden Chef on a number of occasions prior to them closing. Yu's Mandarin did an awesome job We ordered 3 dishes. They were all generous portions & not too expensive which is very much appreciated in these times of rising prices & extreme inflation. The dishes we ordered were 1) Szechuan Eggplant was excellent & the best dish 2) Fish Filet was also delicious (but I found out that they use tilapia which I usually don't eat) 3) Salt & pepper squid was good but a bit too chewy. I didn't know that had salt & pepper smelt as it wasn't on the menu (NEXT TIME). Raymond our server was awesome. From the moment we walked in he greeted us, seated us & brought our menus. Throughout the meal he was attentive. His was a very enjoyable meal. Nice ambiance, good food, good prices & great service. Next time I'm up in Wheeling I will stop by again.

The pork for lunch is so good so tender I don't even put plum sauce on it. I think it makes it too sweet hot and sour was so so a little much vinegar and the vegetable eggroll is OK but for 1195+ tax and tip better than McDonald's, and this is all my leftover Wow the pork is incredible. So tender.

We are always looking for that one Chinese restaurant that's a go to, and I think we found it! Yu's fresh, tasty, affordable, and the plates are huge! Family style dinner makes it perfect to try the whole menu, going back for seconds soon! The service was sweet and they were so attentive and the ambiance is huge and you can see them working in the kitchen is was really cool!

Yu's is for me and for you. The food here is great. This location opened not too long ago, and they have other locations such as Schaumburg, which I have been going to for awhile. You can find some authentic mandarin style food like clams in black bean sauce, salt and pepper fish, sautéed peatips, and pan fried noodles, to name just a few. Overall good was good. Although the only thing that was "off" was salt and pepper fish; it was extremely salty. Service was good, food came out fast, and the overall experience was good.

My parents have deemed Yu's Mandarin as their favorite Chinese restaurant in the vicinity, though they always order the same plates. My favorite dish is creatively titled Noodle Soup, but it consists of of chewy hand-pulled noodles and a spicy seafood broth reminiscent of Korean jjampong. Mongolian Beef and Happy Family Seafood Platter are both regular rotations for us. The inside of the restaurant is newly renovated. Don't mind the lower ratings (surprised by this!), the restaurant is almost always solidly filled even before the dinner rush.
